Full Bio (< 300 words)

“Fern’s tone belies her youth and her lyrics are honest and from the heart”
- Maverick Magazine

Fern Teather is a singer/songwriter from Suffolk, UK, who has been playing her own style of “Folk-edged Americana” all over the UK since 2013. Fern’s released two EP’s and a crowd-funded album, and will be releasing new music in 2018!

Likened to artists such as Gabrielle Aplin, Stevie Nicks, Suzanne Vega, and Joni Mitchell, Fern’s songs explore life in all its guises. Friendships, relationships, hope, reflection, taking risks and living in the moment are all tackled with a finesse that’s guaranteed to hold the audience spellbound. In Fern’s words, she writes her songs to “celebrate life’s ‘ups’ and deal with life’s ‘downs’”.

Fern’s usually joined on stage by her partner Sam ‘bongo boy’ Thurlow, who adds an extra dimension to her music with his subtle, tactile and almost lyrical accompaniment on a variety of percussion and backing vocals.

Fern’s played many well-known venues and festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, FolkEast, The Apex, and The Montreux Jazz Café in Harrods. She’s also supported lots of renowned artists including Karine Polwart, Fairport Convention, Paper Aeroplanes, Angel Snow, and Bella Hardy.

As well as working on her own music, Fern’s currently studying for a degree in Music Production.
