Q) Who are your musical inspirations/influences?
A) I'm influenced by lots of different types of music and therefore many different musicians, but I think the artists who most reflect in my music are Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons, Joni Mitchell, and Suzanne Vega.
Q) How long have you been playing/performing for?
A) I grew up in a very musical house, so it's always been a big part of my life. I've been singing & writing songs for as long as I can remember, and as I grew older I learned to play piano and guitar to accompany myself.
While I've been performing in stage shows since I was about 7, I only began performing my own music 'seriously' when I left school.
Q) How would you describe your style of music?
A) I get asked this a lot, and I'm never quite sure how to answer. I'm influenced by a lot of modern folk artists, and while I wouldn't necessarily describe my music as 'folk', I think the genre 'modern folk-rock' fits me fairly well. I've just finished recording a new EP 'Outside of the Lines' which has more of a 'folk-rock' feel to it.

Q) You have a lot of original songs - do you ever play covers?
A) It depends on the gig! Check out my youtube page - a few of them are on there!
Q) You perform to a lot of people - do you ever get nervous in front of big crowds?
A) It really depends on where I'm playing and who's listening, but I think nerves can be good!
Q) Do you prefer playing at indoor venues or at festivals?
It's a difficult one to answer as I love the acoustics and atmosphere of indoor venues and I always look forward to the vibe of playing at outdoor festivals too! Basically I just love to perform live, and whether there are just a few in the audience or hundreds of people listening I just love being a part of it all!
Q) When did you start playing with The Fern Teather Band?
A) My new EP 'Outside of the Lines' was recorded with these guys in October 2013, and we have been playing together ever since! I really enjoying playing gigs with Carl Scott and Sam Thurlow who add bass and percussion to my vocals and finger picked guitar. However, I do still try to find time to do the occasional solo gig too as I like the intimacy with the audience!
Q) Who are 'Elephant in the Room'?
A) Elephant in the Room is my friend Carl Scott's band, and I sing backing vocals for him.
Our EP 'Roomers' is available on iTunes and the website is www.elephantintheroommusic.com
Q) Why don't you post as many youtube videos as you used to?
A) I've been very busy over the summer with festivals and other gigs, but I'm planning on uploading a lot more youtube videos in the future :)
